The Language of Rugs

O’Bannon Oriental Carpets presents The Language of Rugs, an exhibition that explores the origins of some unusual rug names. Featured in the show are Mamluk, Bidjar, Lotto and Serapi rugs that are as diverse as they are beautiful. The exhibit runs through October 28, 2006, at O’Bannon’s new location on Butler Street in Lawrenceville. Kristen Rockwell, the exhibit’s curator and proprietor of the shop, is also conducting informal discussions about the different rugs.

The Decorating Warehouse, on the corner of 17th and Smallman Streets in the Strip District, is now under new management. Renee’ DeVaul was hired in late September 2005 and has been making new and exciting changes. Renee is currently looking for unique and one-of-a-kind items to add to the new consignment theme. Of particular interest are hand-made arts and crafts, antiques, and quality used furniture.
