Matthew Galluzzo is the Executive Director of the Lawrenceville Corporation. Matthew manages LC staff and volunteers, oversees the organizational budget and fundraising activities, and works to collaboratively develop neighborhood revitalization strategies.
Prior to the LC, Mr. Galluzzo served as the Arts District Manager for the Penn Avenue Arts Initiative, a non-profit community development strategy based in the East End of Pittsburgh through Friendship Development Associates. Under his leadership, the PAAI reduced vacancy rates along the Penn Avenue Arts Corridor to below twenty percent and increased arts-space along the avenue to nearly 1/4 of the total occupied space.
“Lawrenceville is experiencing an incredibly exciting revival and I am thrilled to be afforded the opportunity to work in such a dynamic and vibrant neighborhood,” said Mr. Galluzzo. “I firmly believe that my experience and proficiencies will enable me to lead the organization as an innovative and responsible steward for the community at-large.”
Since arriving in Pittsburgh in 2002, Mr. Galluzzo has worked as a community development professional in Hazelwood and the Northside, and has served as Adjunct Faculty member for the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School for Community Organization and Social Administration. Currently, he serves on the URA Real Estate Loan Review Committee, the Urban Initiatives, LLC Advisory Board, and the Carnegie Mellon University Artist Incubation Advisory Committee.
